Bp. Munib Younan, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL), spoke to the Assembly by telephone from Jerusalem. He thanked the ELCA for its accompaniment and companionship relationship. Bp. Younan is a vice president of the Lutheran World Federation and will host the LWF Council meeting in Bethlehem later this year.

Worship services are communicated in American Sign Language.

Kathryn Sime, director of the ELCA World Hunger and Disaster Appeal, told of Godfrey, a young man she met in Uganda. Godfrey offered a chicken in thanks for our support of the HUYAWA "Services to Children" program.
